EPPING, NH- (March 1, 2012) The month of March has
finally begun, and for the Star Speedway it means that
the start of the 2012 race season at the popular
quarter-mile oval is only ten weeks away, with the first
practice session taking the green in eight weeks. The
highest number of sponsors and race teams in years have
already completed their paperwork to be a part of this
exciting season to come.
Just this week, Allen's Coffee Brandy of Maine
officially pledged their support, adding even more
sponsorship dollars than expected. They are the headline
sponsor of the "Outlaw" Late Models, a division that
brought the highest car counts to Star last season. As
part of their sponsorship, the Outlaw teams will benefit
with hundreds of dollars being paid out in point fund
money.
Additionally, they have added point fund money for the
EKeys 4 Cars Modifieds. The halfway bonus for the June
16 SBM 125 Modified Open just doubled, as Allen's joins
EKeys to put the halfway payoff at $275. The ISMA
Supermodified Classic on September 8 will also get an
additional $125 in halfway bonus money from Allen's. The
2011 Star Classic was the highest paying ISMA event of
the season, thanks to the more than $10,000 in total lap
money being added to the purse.
The recent momentum of Star Speedway continues to bring
back past champions. Rob Wilcox, Joe Squeglia Jr., Bobby
Cabral and Mark Hebbelinck will join the weekly wars
this season at the track "Where Champions are Made."
"The response from drivers who stopped racing and are
now returning to Star is flattering and very exciting
for me and my entire family," stated track promoter Bob
Webber Jr. "I can't wait for this season to begin. This
winter has exceeded all of our expectations. Star
Speedway is back!"
A big reason for the noticeable increase in car counts
that fans will see when the EKeys 4 Cars Modifieds take
to the track is well respected head tech inspector Pete
Frappier, who will return to Star for a full season,
leading the headline division to weekly fields that
could exceed 20 cars.
Allen's is not the only sponsor signing on to support
the competitors of Star Speedway. Unlike most sports
facilities, sponsorship money and contingencies at Star
go directly to the race teams, rather than to pay
expenses. Former Star regular Russ Wood from Woody's
Auto Repair is helping out by adding dollars to the
Strickly Stock class point fund, a weekly random bonus,
and also by sponsoring the July 28 "Woody's Furious 40"
race for the Strickly's.
American Racer Tires, Sunoco Race Fuels, New England
Motor Racing Supply, The Race Depot, Dur-A-Flex, JRA
Powder Coating, SPAFCO Chassis, Valecita, Danger
Designs, Kayem Hot Dogs, Coca-Cola and TJCO have all
added bonuses to the heart of Star Speedway, the weekly
competitors.
There
is still time to add your business to the growing list
of Star Speedway supporters of the weekly division
racing, or to sponsor a lap in the SBM 125 Modified
Open, which has drawn interest from race teams planning
to travel from at least ten different states for this
big event. More information will be available, and
updated frequently on our new official Star Speedway
Facebook page, on the SBM 125 Official fan Facebook
page, and at:
