Epping, NH - The ground-pounding E Keys 4 Cars Modifieds
opened up their 2012 campaign at Star Speedway on a
perfect night for racing, and Jacob Dore made a
statement in the feature event with an impressive run
that ended in victory lane.
Steve Dickey, Jr. led the early laps with Dore following
in his tire tracks, but Dickey eventually headed to the
pits when a mechanical issue knocked him off the pace.
Dore had to survive a series of restarts in the second
half of the race with defending champ Josh Cantara
alongside for most of them, but he was equal to the task
and held on for the win.
Dore
easily earned top honors in the season opening feature
event, with Cantara settling for second in the Anne and
Goodwin Hannaford entry. Richard Savary collected third
place honors, with ageless veterans Vinnie Annarummo and
Rusty Ball taking down fourth and fifth.
Sixth spot went to Frank L’Etoile, with Leo Oliveira,
Kevin Iannarelli, Brandee Tree, and Karl Fredrickson
rounding out the top ten finishers in the first Modified
feature event of the 2012 season.
The
Woody’s Auto Strictly Stocks put on an entertaining
feature event for the fans, with several cars battling
door handle to door handle for position at the front of
the field. Two and three-wide racing for the lead
eventually led to contact, with opening night winner
Chris Augevich spinning out of contention late in the
event.
Coming off a tough night in the opener a week earlier,
Connor McDougal rebounded nicely to collect his first
feature win of the year, with Steve Douphinette, John
Cashman, Matt Kawejsza, Jack Victoria, Slika Ennis,
Augevich, Chris Kingsley, Bret Culleton, and Randy
Carmichael next across the line.
Shaun Waites, Jr. easily outran the Kimball Auto Body
Roadrunner field to collect his first feature win of the
season, with veterans Ken McIlvaine and Seth Stickney
next in the final rundown. Jimmy Ryder, Jr. took a test
drive in the Billy Osborne dwarf car, and he wound up
taking down the feature win over Duane Skofield. |
