Epping, NH - After a five-year absence, the
much-anticipated return of the Mighty NEMA Midgets to
Star Speedway brought some exciting wheel-to-wheel
action on the tight quarter-mile Saturday night, with
Randy Cabral outrunning a strong field of entries to
pick up the win.
A first-lap incident found nearly half the field in
trouble after Paul Scally spun his mount in turn three,
but most were able to make repairs and rejoin the field
for the restart. Seth Carlson led the way in the early
going, but Cabral put a quick move on him between three
and four to take over the point before halfway.
It was all but over from there, with Cabral racing away
to score the win by a comfortable margin.
