Epping, NH - The Granite State
Pro Stock Series rolled into
Star Speedway for a 100-lap
feature event Saturday night,
with former track regular and
NASCAR Nationwide Series
competitor Matt Frahm dominating
the race to take down the
checkered flag.
Frahm survived an early-race
challenge from his teammate
Bobby Cabral, who ran in the
second spot until just before
the halfway mark, and another
late in the race when Mike
O’Sullivan moved in looking to
take the lead away.
Frahm saved his best for last,
putting a couple of cars lengths
between himself and the rest of
the field at the checkers to
take home the win. O’Sullivan
came across the stripe next for
runner-up honors, with veteran
Barry Gray rounding out the
podium in the third spot.
The Allen’s Coffee Flavored
Brandy Outlaws had another
strong field of entries for
their feature event, with Rob
MacRae putting in an impressive
run to collect his first feature
event win of the 2012 season.
Quickly working his way to the
lead after starting the race
ninth on the grid, MacRae held
off a strong late-race challenge
from Joe Squeglia, Jr. to
collect the win, with former
champion Ron Bolduc taking down
the third spot just a car length
behind.
“Slammin’ Sammy” Peabody laid
claim to his third Woody’s Auto
Strictly Stock feature win on
Saturday night, with Steve
Douphinette coming up just short
in the second position, and
Chris Jacobson next across the
stripe to score the final podium
spot.
Billy Osborne continued his
recent hot streak with a win in
the Kimball Auto Body Roadrunner
main event, outrunning Jarrod
Soucy and Shaun Waites, Jr. to
make his second victory since
the beginning of August.
The Legends were out in full
force for a pair of feature
events during the night, with
Shawn Buffington taking down the
win in the first of the two.
Evan Beaulieu came out on top of
the second Legends main. Legends
racer T.J. Bleau did double duty
and scored the Star 4 Modified
win. |
